Inspiration from Behind the Lens Continued

    These are all great things to look forward too but we need to remember the greatest gift that we will ever receive. The gift of Jesus, born so long ago in just a stable. It’s so easy to forget this with all the lights and glitter. As I’ve gotten older I have not been as interested in receiving earthly gifts.  Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy them but my attention is focusing more on the best gift I have ever received. That is the gift of Jesus’ birth and later his death on the cross. The gift of salvation that He gave me by dying on that cross. What a wonderful gift that He was willing to die for me.

It sums up the whole reason for Christmas and Easter in just a 3 minute song.  So with all the rushing around to get the perfect gift for someone special, getting food ready for guests, or just trying to make it through a day of work keep in the back of your mind why we celebrate this special day and try to remember this one thing. The very best gift of all is that little baby born in a manger so many years ago.
