The Great Commission!
We should go to them, not have them come to us. CONTINUED

Many of us may have lost the excitement and enthusiasm that led us to reach out to others, to help them, to tell them about Jesus Christ and His Salvation.  The enthusiasm that wants to tell somebody what Jesus means to them.  Listen once more to the song by Don Francisco: “Got to tell somebody” below.  It is mentioned in the On the Street page about “The Great Commission”.  If Jesus has saved you, if He has healed you, if He has made your life better, if you love Him, then you HAVE TO TELL SOMEBODY.  That’s what witnessing is.  That’s what The Great Commission is: you HAVE TO TELL SOMEBODY.
Another scripture says in  Luke 9:26 “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels”.

Don Francisco's "Got to tell somebody"

This scripture says to me that we are required to “witness”.  It also says that if we are afraid, afraid to share our faith, our belief and our Saviour, that our Saviour will be ashamed of us.  Yes, these are powerful words and could be an indictment on many Christians.  Only you can answer: am I ashamed?  Do I witness?  Do I tell others about Jesus and salvation?  Or, am I afraid I might lose my job, or my friend, or perhaps my life if I become too “fanatic”.  By the way, you cannot become too fanatic.  The truth is the truth and “the truth shall set you free’.  Jesus IS THE TRUTH.
If you are ashamed, if you have lost your faith, if you are not about ”your father’s business”, then perhaps you need to “revive” that zeal, that enthusiasm and that confidence in your salvation.
Think about this.  At about 100 AD, the Christians were killed for their belief.  They were fed to the lions, the men were sent to the Colliseum to fight the gladiators.  Now, this is persecution.  I hear people talking about if someone comes to kill them for their belief in Christ that they will defend themselves.  According to history, the Christians did not defend themselves.  The women covered their children while the lions ate them.  The Christian men did not fight the gladiators in their defense.  Instead, they knelt in prayer while they were killed.  And we think we are being persecuted.
In countries like India, China, and Arab countries, to say “I am a Christian” means your life.  In America, we are only worried about our job or that someone may not like us.
If you believe the Word of God, then you know that there are hard times coming to the whole world, including America.  If you look, you can see it coming.  I’m not trying to tell you when “the rapture” is or when the “mark of the beast” will come.  I am telling you that you need to be ready in case you may have to go through trials and persecutions including death.  Are you really ready to die for your belief in God and The Lord Jesus Christ.
There is a saying:  “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”.  What do you stand for?  AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD (Joshua 24:15).
