I’m not talking about giving in to temptation because you are weak. I’m talking about knowing that the temptation is there, knowing that it is sin, but doing it anyway. Not because of weakness, but because we just want to do it. Then we think we can simply ask God to forgive us of this transgression and then, when the next temptation comes, we feel we can do it any way and we will be forgiven.
Yes, Grace covers a multitude of sins. However, “rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft”. Think of how many people fall under this category of knowing it’s wrong but doing it anyway.
We can be thankful that God is our judge and Jesus is our advocate. How many willful sins does it take to lose our salvation? How many sinners does it take to change a lightbulb? Sorry for the humorous comparison but we must think and re-think our walk with God and become truly sorry for our dis-obedience and rebellion.
I am aware of the controversy regarding my statements. I am not trying to start a controversy, I am trying to bring us to a realization of Our Father, God. No, I did not digress. All of this is pertinent to fathers. We commit these same acts with our earthly father and our Heavenly Father.
This Fathers Day, honour the father that brought you into this world, but above all, honour the Father that brought this world, and you, and everything.
When you pray “The Lord’s Prayer”, think about your life and does it honour the Father? Do not forget Father God. Jesus himself taught us to “pray to the Father in my (Jesus’) name.
