Did You Know?
There were three types of fish primarily sought by fishermen in the Sea of Galilee in Bible Times. The Sardines which were likely the two small fish that the boy brought to the feeding of the 5000, the Barbel, and Tilapia which in bible times were called musht and more known today as"St. Peter's Fish."
According to some sources there are 35 species known to exist in the Sea of Galilee. Of those 18 are native.
