JIM: If you were on trial and had to prove you were a good Christian, would you be able to prove it?
These people were asked how they would prove they were. Think about it, one day you will stand before God and will have to prove you are worthy.
Yes, Jesus died for us and to be saved you must accept him and repent of your sins. But is there more after you accept Him? I think there is.
The Bible says; “he who endures til the end shall be saved”. In the book of the Revelation, the address to the churches speaks to and judges them by their works. If you are judged by your works and you have no works, where will you stand?
Another scripture says: “didn’t I heal the sick in your name and cast out demons in your name”? Yet Jesus told them to depart, He never knew them.
I’m inclined to believe that accepting Jesus is the first necessary requirement. But, it does not stop there.
It is interesting that every answer to this question includes the fact that you prove you’re a good Christian by what you do.
