VINYL  IS ALIVE! Page 3

Last. but not least in our presentation of vinyl, is our interview  with Adam Smith  .
Adam Smith has many hats at Musicol.  He works with J.R. in production; he is a Production Engineer working with various artists in their recording process.
Adam has his own band and is experienced in marketing.
In Adams’ interview, he gives us insight into the future of vinyl and the probable demise of CD’s.
Although Adam works in a different genre than Gospel Music, he is never-the-less, well versed in the current trends that either promote, or inhibit the process of marketing your product to the fans who are puchasing your product.

Indeed, Gospel Music Fans are currently of a different demographic than that which Adam usually works with, but marketing is marketing.

At one time or another trends reach out and affect every genre sooner or later.  Just as concept music video began in the rock market, gospel artists have now begun to see the benefit and ministry that can come from these concept videos.
In Adam’s interview, he is asked what products should be on the table to increase the amount of income from such product.  His answer was “Vinyl & T-Shirts”.  I’m sure this will somewhat shock those who enjoy gospel music in the CD format.  However, this seems to be an accruate statement.  Our discussion about the future of music included the statements that in the future, the format of choice is likely to be digital (e.g. SD Cards).  Computers are here to stay!  Adam also shared the trend of selling product through outlets such as “I-Tunes”; “CD Baby” and direct downloads from the artists themselves.
We may not like change, but change still occurs.  Time marches on.  The primary information we need to come away from this article with is that the “Product Table” or the computer is only a means of sharing our ministry to more people all over the world.  If the money or amount of product sold increases, then the outreach of our ministry will also increase.
We are told to spread the Gospel unto all the world.  Whether through traveling, or through the internet or our web page, we must continue to spread the Gospel.
As an example of the potential for ministerial outreach, bear in mind the outreach of this magazine.  Our last issue has been viewed and our interviews have been heard in 18 countries.  This includes Russia.  Isn’t God great?  Although the Devil tries to do evil with technology, God teaches how to use the same technology to counter everything the Devil tries to do.
Indeed: Romans 8:28

“All things work together for good to them that love God”
