Money seems to be the number one thing Ministries and churches talk about the most. I hear about churches needing funds to increase building size for new endeavors. Now there is nothing necessarily wrong with needing a larger building structure. But when you deck it out with expensive chandeliers and costly stained glass windows, It makes me wonder if they are worshiping God or the building?

Who are we helping when such fancy luxuries are put into a building? It looks like people are making idols out of a church building. God does not care about material things like a church building or what it looks like. He cares about people and the quality of their salvation.

I have experienced on many occasions people will think more highly of there pastor than they should. People tend to make them idol like. The pastor is not anymore special than you and I. He or she has to follow the same set of rules as the rest of us. That means if the pastor miss quotes the Bible it is the responsibility of a Christian to correct that person. If the pastor sins against God and does not repent than you cannot call them your brother, or sister. Neither can they hold office. We need to remember that like every one of us, pastors are sinners.  They make mistakes just like the rest of us.  But it’s how they grow from their mistakes that define them as a true child of God.
A job can be an idol too. Now take it from me on this.  A job is a necessity to support you and your family but don’t let it go beyond that.  I am what you call a workaholic.  I do not know when to quit.  On many occasions I will work from morning to night. Sometimes I will forget to eat because I get so involved in work. I may not read the Bible, or pray.  This is wrong I have put work before God. I have made work an idol. God is a Jealous God He does not like it when you don’t spend time with Him, even if that time is spent for your ministry, God still wants YOU!

Think of it this way. If God is your best friend and you don’t spend time with Him, He ceases to be your best friend.  He becomes a stranger because you get so busy and don’t acknowledge that He’s there.  This can apply to everything I have mentioned about idols and more.  God has been dealing with me on this problem. God can help you with those things you are weak in.  All you have to do is ask for it.  When you are wrong don’t be afraid to admit it. None of us are perfect except Jesus Christ.
The main point I want to get across is: love one another; help one another and care about one another. But don’t do it by just words alone, do it with action. You are probably familiar with the old cliché “action speaks louder than words”. It is true.

If your ministry is thriving, then help the ministry next to you that is not. When you help someone, you are helping Jesus and you are furthering His ministry.
Your ministry is to “Preach the Gospel” and “Go Into All The World!  The world The Bible refers to is not the “Church World”.  It is where you go, who you talk to, where you work, and even your own family.  We all have a ministry.  Spend time with God and let him show you how to perform your ministry.
