The world cannot save us. The world cannot forgive us. The world cannot wipe away our tears. The world cannot give us power. Only Jesus Christ can do these things. Without Jesus Christ, there can be no power! Another comment that has been given is that the Christian Church has no power. “They talk about power, they talk about healing, they talk about deliverance, but many have never seen it”. Indeed, many have seen it, but many have seen it but do not use the power. Again! Without Jesus Christ, there can be no power. Power comes through The Comforter (The Holy Spirit) that Jesus said He would send. And indeed, He has sent the Comforter, and the Church has been enbued with power. Why is it then that we don’t often see Christians using that power? We are the reason. For example, if we are given $1,000,000 and do not spend it, then we are poor. If we have been given power, and do not use it, we are powerless. The churches must become an example, and not a stumbling-block. Until we realize the source of power and stop blaming other people for the lack of It, we cannot hope for life, or the church to be much different. We are the ones who must fight Satan, not the rest of the church. The responsibility of the rest of the church is to uplift one another, to be there, to help. Remember, to be helped, you must be helpful. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. Now that we have discussed some of the reasons given for not going to church, what then is the solution? Sadly, the solution is not quick or easy. The solution is however, obvious. Stop looking at people and look to Jesus Christ. He is the answer, the only Way!
The church, (we are “the Church”) must become an example, and not a STUMBLING BLOCK. Many people will judge Christ, and the church by what they see in you. We must not see hypocrites, we must stop being a hypocrite! We must reach out to others, even if there is no one to reach out to us. We must be the Church, not just go to church. We must grow up. It’s our duty to teach others, not stay in kindergarten for our entire Christian life. Many people will judge Christ, and the church, by what they see in you. What you read in this article may be hard to take. You may be angry at some things that have been said. Instead of allowing your first impressions, or your feelings to judge what you have read. Ask God, “Am I guilty”? You see, those who stop attending church because of the people are just as guilty as the people who make up the church you stopped going to. This article is not meant to be an indictment of the church, nor is it meant to drive those who leave the church farther away. These words are meant to cause you to think. Think about where you are in Christ. Think about what you are doing for Christ and others. Think about the example you are being to others, and even to your own family. Think about whether you are the problem; the cause; or the solution. This article is not meant to be an indictment. There is a man I have heard on the radio whose motto is:
“You must grow in Grace, or groan in disgrace”.
