I first met Jonathan Wilburn at a church in Lancaster, Ohio when he was singing with Gold City. That was around 2000.
I met Jordan much later, about 3 or 4 years ago at the NQC.
They are now Wilburn & Wilburn. A father and son team who, over the years have grown in my view both musically and specially spiritually.
This year at the NQC, I was extremely impressed with that growth. I have seen emotions that were there just for the sake of emotion and I have seen true emotion
brought upon by the presence of The Holy Spirit. I have seen that true emotion in Wilburn & Wilburn.
I believe their newest CD “Here Comes Sunday” includes their greatest songs. Among these songs are: Help Me (my personal favorite)
; A Man Like Me
; Funeral Plans
and Jesus Will
.
We also have a wonderful surprise at the end of this article. You will be able to see their new video Help Me.
Jonathan gave us a beautiful message as he told of their music and what God has done for him. Listern to it here
.
It seems that the theme that we help other people has been common at this year’s NQC. Many artists expressed this feeling as they sang and ministered there. Knowing Jonathan as long as I have, I am blessed with a deeper spiritual feeling towards him and the ministry of Wilburn & Wilburn.
Believe me, you will not be disappointed if you go out of your way to see them or if you have them at your church. You can find more information on their website: www.wilburn2.com.
I realize that we seem to favor quartets in this world of southern gospel music. However, there is no quartet that exceeds the talent, the emotions, the spirit and the ministry of Wilburn & Wilburn. Trust me, God is blessing them and their ministry.
