Having spent my childhood watching TV programs about the coastal beaches and U.S. 101, I finally got to travel this legendary highway.
   I always heard about the beaches in California but after being there, I found Oregon’s beaches were the most interesting and photographically the best.

   Equally of interest was the fact that Oregon has no sales tax and no “self-serve” gasoline pumps.  They pump the gas for you.  I also found that Oregon beaches are owned and kept by the state of Oregon.  In California, the beaches are privately owned and sometimes not kept in pristine condition.  I have numerous photos to share that back up this statement.
   There is no way I can share all the photos I took (thousands), but I have tried to pick those that are most interesting and beautiful.  I hope you agree with me, it is a beautiful “Place to See”!
   With no further ado, I will begin to share with you, U.S. 101 and the beaches of the State of Oregon.
