I first met Blaine and Boyd Cornwell at a concert in Ohio. I discovered we had already met their mother at a nursing home where we regularly ministered.
The children of the church flocked to them immediately because of the attention they were being given. Even the adults were awed by their being able to show one brother a number and the other would instantly know what that number is.
Another amazing twist to their music ministry was the songs they sing. They take an oldies hit song and writing new words, Christian words to the tune of that song. We have all heard parodies by artists such as "Weird Al" Yankovic in the secular world. I don’t believe I have heard such parodies in the Christian world.
These twins are close, to say the least. They sing together, they work together, take vacations together and so on. Above all, they love God together.
They live in Joplin, Missouri but they carry their ministry all over the United States. In their interview (Listen Here ) you will hear how they began as golf caddies. You can also hear music from their latest album: “Everyday Of The Year” The title song is the tune to “Calander Girl” by Neil Sedaka. Listen to Everyday Of The Year .
When you listen to the interview with Blaine and Boyd you will find yourself realizing how close they are to the Lord and each other.
To learn more about The Cornwell Twins and how to have them come to your church, their website is: www.cornwelltwins.org.
You might want to hear another song by The Cornwell Twins. I chose to share with you: “Search Me Lord” . This song is not a parody. I chose it because it shows the versatility of Blaine and Boyd’s talent. It also has great words to lift us up and help us grow as Christians.
In closing, I am sure Blaine and Boyd Cornwell would appreciate your prayers and your support. You may support them by going to the website above and ordering their newest album “Everyday Of The Year” or one of their earlier albums. While you’re at it, tell your pastor about their ministry and invite them to come to your church and share the talent God has given them.
