Do you want excitement? Do something! Many of us just fill a pew, attend the services and that’s it. Being a Christian is a 7 day, 12 month, 365 day job. You cannot get excited about something that does not fill you completely, heart and soul.
You go golfing, you watch sports, you attend concerts and you cheer and become extremely excitable. Then you go to church and sit as if you were waiting for the undertaker. Then you have those who visibly show their excitement by fleshly manifestations which are supposed to show how good a Christian we are. To show how much of a Christian we are is to act like and live like Jesus and His disciples did.
The big question is: What are you going to do about it?
We believe we are in the last days but we act as if we have all the time in the world. Even if we did have time, there are millions who don’t know Jesus Christ as Savior. Many of them live near you. Some of them may even go to your church. Yet, we seem to believe that we are not our brother’s keeper. WE ARE!
Our family, our neighbors, our friends are the world we are to go and preach The Gospel too. We wait for them to come to church. They won’t!
So, you say, what has this got to do with excitement? EVERYTHING! There is excitement in believing in and having faith in something. If you believe, your words will represent that belief. You believe in golf, you believe in TV shows, so you talk about what you believe. If you believe in Christ, If you believe in Salvation, if you believe in God’s love, you will get excited. You will talk about it. “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh”. What do you talk about most?
If fellowship, people and love are not in your heart, don’t go to church. They don’t need you. If you’re on fire for God, full of love, and Saved. By all means, take this excitement to church as well as everywhere we go.
Fear breeds fear. Love breeds love. Excitement breeds excitement. What will you bring to church this Sunday?
