Mike LeFevre, The LeFevre QT - Continued

MIKE Continued: I’ve had that happen numerous times or maybe they’d say “made me realize I was living a life without Jesus and I accepted Jesus.  A lot of times, we don’t get to see the harvest, but we get to plant the seed.  There are other times we do get to see the harvest, we do get to see people go to the altar and give their life to Jesus.  One thing that we do, if it’s a LeFevre concert, and we have an opportunity.  Keep in mind we sing at some concerts where we don’t have control of the concert, but when we have the liberty, we always give an altar call.  We want people to know that the reason we leave our families and go every week and do what we do is that “Jesus Saves”!  It says in God’s Word that He’s the same yesterday and forever and we believe that the things He did two-thousand years ago, He still does today.  So we tell people, and we believe this, that if you’re sick in body or if you’re sick financially or if your marriage is in trouble.  If you have anger or hatred in your life, if you have addictions in your life that God can deliver you from all these things.  That’s what we believe, and we preach, I say preach, we sing that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ and that the blood of Jesus covers their life.  If they’ll surrender their life to Him and have a personal walk with Him.

JIM: You know anger and hatred and depression is what the devil is using strongly in Christians and non-Christians.
MIKE: It is, and you know, I feel like satan is at work in peoples’ minds.  If he can get to somebody’s mind, then he can attack and can weaken them down.  There’s so many areas there that’s financial.  If you’re wondering about your last dollar or where your next house payment’s coming from.  Depression can set in.  If you’re wondering if your husband or wife is out there cheating on you, depression can set in.  There’s so many things that satan can use; dis-trust or mistrust or whatever the case to attack somebody’s mind.  We see a lot of that, we see a lot of depression.  We pray for a lot of people that have said they are depressed.  I prayed with somebody the other day that came to the altar and said: “I was thinking about killing myself this week.  I just asked them why?  They said, I’m so depressed.  I prayed that God would deliver her from that depression.  I believe that God can do that!  There’s nothing in God’s Word that says He can’t.  I believe it.

JIM: Tom Cruise, the actor made a statement once about medicine.  In cases like depression, they give you a pill which only masks the symptoms of depression but does not address or cure the cause of depression.
MIKE: In a way, I could agree with that but, I have seen people that, it’s almost like blood pressure, let’s take that for instance.  If somebody has an issue with blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat, or a diabetic.  Sometimes they have to have something to keep that in control.  Who am I to say that that’s not the case with a chemical imbalance that might cause depression in people or something like that.  I think you can be over medicated but I think God gave us some good doctors too.

JIM: Would you tell the people how they can keep in touch with Mike LeFevre and The LeFevre Quartet.
MIKE: Absolutely!  You can reach us through thelefevrequartet.com.  That’s our web site and all the contact information is on there and our booking agency is on there.  You can go on there and get our e-mail address if you’d like to request prayer or if you’d like to be a partner in this ministry, there’s a place to do that.  We’re very accessible.  We do consider this a ministry.  We’re not jus out singing Gospel Music, we consider it a ministry and we do tell people that Jesus Saves.

JIM: It’s certainly good to talk with you again and to know that your ministry is still going strong and that your music is also going strong.
MIKE: Thank you very much and we’re just going to keep pressing on as long as The Lord allows.
