Inspiration From Behind The Lens Concluded

Jesus always spoke in parables to the public.  The Disciples questioned Jesus about that.  In Matthew 13:13 Jesus answered them: Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
When he was speaking here He was telling us to be careful to what we are hearing. For according to the proportion of study given to God’s word, a corresponding amount of knowledge will be given you, and generously multiplied. God’s truth was divinely inspired by the men who wrote the books of the Bible but not hidden from man. It can be understood in proportion to one’s attention to and study of it.
Studying the Word of God is a great thing to do. I learn so much. Even if it’s a passage that I’ve read before I can always learn something new. Sometimes however, as happens to all of us, I get tired after a long day of work, something happens that puts me in a bad mood, etc. and I don’t give His Word the full attention it deserves and as a result I get a proportionate amount of knowledge….nothing. But when I sit down and really focus on His word I really get something out of it. So I encourage everyone of you to sit down every day and take time to really study His Word. When you do, you’ll be amazed at the things you will learn and the rewards you will receive.
