Ingredients:

1 ready-made pie pastry
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice or (ground cinnamon)
4 medium apples, peeled, cored and cut into thin slices (about 4 cups)

Directions:

Topping:
¼ c. crushed graham crackers or oatmeal
¼ c. flour
¼ c. brown sugar
¾ tsp. pumpkin pie spice or (ground cinnamon)
4 T. softened butter and diced
1/3 c. chopped pecans
Caramel topping or a glaze
Vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll ready-made pie pastry to fit a 12-inch pizza pan, flute or fold under the edges. In a large bowl, combine sugar and pumpkin pie spice; add sliced apples and toss to coat. Spread coated apples on top of the pie crust. In a small bowl, combine crushed graham crackers or oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and diced butter; mix with the back of a fork, until mixture resembles coarse bread crumbs and stir in chopped pecans. Spread topping mixture on top of the apples. Bake 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from the oven and drizzle caramel topping or a glaze on top. Cut into slices, place on dessert plates and serve warm. Garnish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
Note: This is a great dessert to have on a cold wintery day, and so easy to make!
