Think about it, is God’s house divided? One says you are not saved if you do not speak in tongues; One says you’re not saved unless you are completely immersed in water by baptism; Another says you must go to our church or you are doomed. There are so many ideas of what is necessary for salvation. The Bible says that Jesus, belief in Him as The Son of God, and repenting of your sins is the only necessity for Salvation. Jesus died on a cross for that Salvation. WE CAN DO NOTHING - Jesus does it all!
If God’s people forgot their differences and united in Jesus Christ, think of what we could do to bring others to the Salvation Of The Lord.
Many may say that my messages and articles are alike. They may be. That’s because my message and my heart are on the church. To strengthen the church. To unite the church. Who is the church? You! Me! All who know Jesus as their savior. We are the church. We do not go to church, we, the church get together in a building that we worship in. That building is not the church.
It is true that by law, a meeting place has to have a name, so we name it this or that church. However, we must realize that WE ARE THE CHURCH.
You can tear down or burn down a building, you can lock its doors, you can kill those who believe but you cannot destroy “The Church”. Even if you destroy every believer you find on earth, God will still have His Church. There will still be a Child of God.
When I first got married, I became involved with a different church. I was raised believing in premillennial. Being young, I was also argumentative. A lady within the church whom I will never forget and with whom I was “debating” got frustrated with my efforts to defend my belief. She told me something I have never forgotten and have shared with many.
She said: Jim, if the millennium has already happened, I’m a Christian and will be a part of what God has for me. If the millennium is happening now, I’m a Christian and will be a part of what God has for me. If the millennium is going to happen, I’m a Christian and will be a part of what God has for me. So you see Jim, the important thing is TO BE A CHRISTIAN!
Her message should be learned by all. Instead of disagreeing about things like The Millennium, or The Rapture, or how you’re Baptized, or whether you speak in tongues or not, we should understand; WE ARE CHRISTIANS (or we should be). As it is said by Jesus in Mark 9:38-40 “They’re either for me or against me”. Which one are you?
To be for him, we must help one another. We must be there when one is sad. We must share when one is glad. Lifting one another up, not tearing another down because they’re having a hard time or because their beliefs or understanding is different than yours.
God says “He will not put more on us than we can stand”. Perhaps this means that one is not ready to receive a particular truth and another one is. Are you ready for the truth?
