If you look in the Bible this is what you will find it says about Noah and the ark:

   And the LOR said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

Genesis 7:1-3

   When I read this I wondered why would God want seven pairs of the clean animals? But if you look a little farther into the Bible you’ll find the answer:

   And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his hear, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

Genesis 8:20-21

   What an amazing thing that has happened here. God knew what was going to happen after Noah and his family got off the ark. Noah was so grateful to the LORD that he offered sacrifices to HIM in thanksgiving. Just think if Noah had done that and he had only taken ONE pair of each animal we wouldn’t have some of them around today. This shows that even though we don’t understand why God lets things happen, or why HE tells us to do something a certain way that HE has a plan and a certain outcome in HIS mind. We don’t know what that result will be or how long it will take, but if we follow HIS commands great things are going to happen!
