I thought it might be of interest for those who to begin a ministry if they learned about our ministry. God Plus Us has evolved from my beginnings as a solo artist. It was much easier then to get churches to sing at. I started in 1975. In 1979, I settled down in Columbus, Ohio and didn’t sing for awhile. I made my first record “Memories Of A Childhood” in 1979. I can tell you first hand, it is true, if you don’t travel, you won’t sell product. I began traveling short distances and then in 1988, I began to travel with my family. We went through 39 states and two busses. Lots of struggles and lots of blessings.
In 2011, God Plus Us was born. Myself, my wife Gracie and youngest son, Rick. Later, my wife was not as keen on traveling, so Rick and I became “God Plus Us”.
My son, Roger is a college trained web-master and has designed all of our web pages, including this magazine. We have found it to be a little more difficult to book churches in this time. Partly due to the number of people involved in music ministry and partially due to the economy.
Although at times, we don’t even cover the cost of gasoline for our RV which only gets 6mpg, we feel led to share what God has given us.
At times, we go to places other than churches and just sing and do a little “preaching” between songs. There are people who will not go to church. It is our desire to minister to them and let the words of the songs Rick and I wrote speak to their hearts.
People have responded very well to our form of ministry. Our music may not necessarily be classified under one particular style but we know that God inspired it the way we wrote it. It has proven to be effective in touching the hearts of those who hear. One song that has brought some to the altar is YOU’RE THE ONE” .
Would I advise anyone to begin a traveling music ministry? If you are called by God to begin such a ministry, then, by all means don’t let anyone stop you. If you’re doing it because you think it’s a good thing to do, give it up.

Remember: if God has something for you to do, the devil won’t like it. He will do everything to discourage you and make it hard. God does not want cry babies or quitters. Just be sure that the plan is GODS PLAN.
