Inspiration From Behind The Lens Concluded |
I was watching my two children the other day. Nathan, who is 6 loves to hold his little sister, Abigail. I thought when she came along he would be jealous of her but it has been the exact opposite. He lets her crawl all over him, most of the time shares his toys with her, and is protective of her (especially when someone at church tries to tell him they’re going to take her home with them). Children are born and they love everyone. They even trust someone they’ve never seen before to watch over them. They have to be taught to hate. Out of the Ten Commandments that God gave Moses Jesus quotes two as being the most important: Love the Lord thy God with all they heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. If you think about it by following just these two commandments we wouldn’t steal someone else’s car (that would not be loving thy neighbor), lie at an interview just to get a job (again not loving thy neighbor), or lust after your friend’s wife (once again not loving your neighbor). God loves us unconditionally just like our children love us, and we should all love God unconditionally. In Mathew 11: 29-30 it reads Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Those words never rang more true. Jesus’ yoke is easy to bear and His burden is light. If we would all take it up we couldn’t help but to love one another and more importantly to love God. |
